Program Choices

Special Olympics North Dakota has 15 official sports split into 5 training/competition seasons.  They are broken down as follows:

 

Basketball Training starts late December – early January and continues until the State Games which are held in Minot in March.

 

Summer Games – Bocce Ball, Gymnastics, Powerlifting, Swimming, Track & Field, and Unified Volleyball. Training for this sports season begins mid-March and continues until the State Summer Games are held the end of May or early June in Fargo.

 

Soccer/Bocce – Unified and Traditional Soccer; Singles and Unified Doubles Bocce. Training for these sports begins the middle of July and continues until the State Tournament in early September in Grand Forks.

 

Bowling practices start in mid-September and run until the State Tournament is held in early November in Mandan.

 

Winter Games – Cross Country Skiing, Downhill Skiing, Figure Skating, Snow Shoeing, Speed Skating, and Team Handball (Unified and Traditional).  Training for these sports start in November or early December and continue until the State Winter Games are held the middle of January in Bottineau.
